Why can't I sign in to Cognos Connection using Internet Explorer 11?

2017 - There is a known networking issue preventing TTUHSC users from using Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) to automatically sign-in to eRaider protected applications, including Cognos (cognos.texastech.edu).

To work around this problem, follow these instructions to change a setting in Internet Explorer 11.

1. In IE11, press the "Alt" key to bring up IE11's menus, then go to "Tools", "Internet Options"
2. Click "Security" tab
3. Make sure the "Trusted Sites" option is selected
4. Click "Custom Level"
5. Scroll down the list of settings to the end and change theoption from "Automatically logon only in Intranet Zone" to "Prompt for user name and password"
6. Click "Ok", then "Ok" again to close out of the settings screens

Once this change is made, IE11 will no longer pass your existing Windows credentials to eRaider, but will instead prompt for your username & password like Chrome and Firefox do.

Why can't I drill down to the sub-report in Cognos PDF drill-through reports?

1.  Verify you are running the report from Cognos Connection (http://cognos.texastech.edu)

In order for drill through reports to work in Cognos, you must run the report within Cognos Connection.  Drill through links will not work from copies of a Cognos report that were saved or sent as an email attachment because Cognos depends on your Cognos Connection session to keep track of the details it needs in order to drill through from one report to another.

2.  Verify you are using a supported browser.

Cognos also relies on the advanced Adobe PDF capabilities within IE 11 and some versions of Firefox to make drill through reports work.  Drill through reports will not likely work in Chrome, Safari, and other browsers.

Why can't I get results when I run a Cognos report?
