ECRT System
To ensure salary and wages of employees charged to a sponsored project are allocable, allowable, consistently treated and reasonable and to comply with federal regulations, TTUHSC uses a detailed Effort Certification and Reporting Technology system (ecrt) to ensure the effort put forth on a sponsored project warrants the financial compensation provided by the sponsor. The ecrt system reflects an individual's payroll distribution and provides an estimation of actual time spent on activities, distinguishing between institutional activities and sponsored projects.
Ecrt provides a reasonable level of accuracy that salaries and wages on a sponsored fund reflect the actual percentage of effort benefiting the project. Sufficient documentation of effort towards a sponsored project must be maintained to support certification for audit review.
Each effort report will account for 100% of the activity for which the employee is compensated (including cost share/salary cap funds).
The ecrt system can be accessed from the WebRaider portal, F&A Work Tools tab.
