Vehicle Registration

  • The Texas Legislature has passed a bill that requires us to notify you of the repercussions of not registering your vehicle in the State Texas. BE ADVISED: If you are the owner of a vehicle and are a Texas resident and fail to register your vehicle in this state or to display a current and appropriate inspection certificate issued under Chapter 548, Transportation Code, you may be violating state law.

  • Register by completing the appropriate forms, paying the appropriate fee, and properly affixing the permit on the motor vehicle.

  • Permits are required to operate or benefit from the use of a motor vehicle on the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center campus.

  • Refunds: Available for unused portions of a permit and may be requested through the Parking Services Office.

  • TTUHSC faculty/staff and students are required to register their motor vehicles with the Parking Services Office on or before the date they commence operating a motor vehicle on campus. Faculty/staff may receive an additional sticker for use on a second car.

  • Operation of a motor vehicle without a permit is a violation of TTUHSC policy.

  • For faculty and staff, registration is for twelve months or through the end of the fiscal year (August). For students, registration is for nine, twelve, or fourteen months.

  • Any space remaining after the needs of the faculty and staff are met, will be available for assignment to part-time instructors, graduate teaching assistants, and graduate research assistants who hold contracts for one-half time or more. Such assignments may be revoked, as necessary, to accommodate the needs of regular faculty and staff.

  • Upon termination of employment with TTUHSC, an employee's parking privileges will be cancelled.

  • Faculty and staff whose dependents are students may allow those dependents to register a commonly-operated motor vehicle for a student permit in addition to the Reserved Space or Area Reserved permit. If the faculty or staff member has two motor vehicles registered, and if both vehicles are on campus at the same time, the motor vehicle with the student permit must be parked in the designated student parking area and not in either the faculty or staff member's reserved space or in the time limit areas on campus.

  • Renewal: Persons assigned reserved and area reserved spaces will be notified no later than August 1 of each year. Employee permits with no unpaid citations or fees will have their existing vehicle registration automatically renewed on August 12th. If an employee permit was not automatically renewed due to unpaid fines or fees, once the balance is paid, the employee can renew their permit on the Parking Services website. Spaces that are not renewed by September 1st will be sold to individuals on the waiting list. If an employee plans to be absent from the campus during the summer, he/she should make parking arrangements before leaving.

  • TTUHSC faculty/staff shall not use any UMC parking facilities unless UMC policy permits.

  • All employees who work at Texas Tech Medical Center-Southwest must register their vehicle to park at that facility. Persons who hold a Texas Tech Medical Center-Southwest permit (S1) may park in one of the general area parking lots (A-0, A-1, A-2,A-3,D-3,E-3, F-0,F-1, F-2, F-3) when parking on the TTUHSC 4th Street location.
